Hi, my name is Miriam Bravo, and I live in Northeast Minneapolis.

I have three elementary school children who joined Nuestra Lucha in 2023, and this experience has been a tremendous help in their development. It has allowed them to improve their social skills, connect with their roots, and embrace the rich traditions of our beautiful Mexico.

Being part of this group has also been a significant milestone in their growth, as they have had the opportunity to perform in front of an audience. This experience has given them the confidence to believe in themselves and understand that they can achieve anything with dedication and effort.

I am beyond grateful for this wonderful opportunity. My children—Gabriela (10), Samuel (8), and Mateo (7)—have truly benefited from this program, and I appreciate all the support and encouragement they have received.

For our family, the Pérez García family, it has been a pleasure to meet founder Viviana Salazar, teacher Rosalinda, and her husband Carlos. Through Folklórico dance, we can continue to honor and remember the culture and traditions of our beautiful country, Mexico.

Because dancing is not just about moving the body—it is so much more. It is feeling the adrenaline rush through our veins, expressing who we are and what we feel. It is like being transported to another world, where we experience different cultures and traditions, especially as we also dance to songs from all over Latin America.

For my children and me, Folklórico has helped us believe in ourselves, build confidence, and strengthen our self-esteem. Personally, I love my Mexican culture and traditions, and when I dance to its songs, I feel like I am carrying a piece of my beloved México with me.

We hope to continue dancing with the Nuestra Lucha Folklórico group for many more years. Thank you!
